T In The Park have scored a major coup – electronic legends Kraftwerk.
Düsseldorf’s finest have been confirmed for the Scottish festival, which is celebrating its 20th anniversary this year. Festival director Geoff Ellis sounds suitably hyped:
“Kraftwerk are a truly seminal band. Their revolutionary sound altered the face of contemporary music, and paved the way for so many artists across so many musical genres. They are a massively influential group and an incredible live act, and we are hugely excited to welcome Kraftwerk to T in the Park for the first time this July, in what will be a very special moment in our 20th year celebrations.”
The band will join fellow headliners Mumford & Sons, Rihanna and The Killers. T In The Park runs from July 12-14 in Kinross, Scotland.
Kraftwerk are currently midway through a residency at London’s Tate Modern; head here to watch footage of the group running through classic material from the likes of Trans-Europe Express and Autobahn. [via NME]
