Iggy and the Stooges return to form on 'Burn'

The punk legends sound surprisingly spry on the vicious Ready to Die cut.

‘Burn’ is the type of unrelenting headbanger that the band pioneered thirty years ago on Raw Power, and apart from Iggy Pop’s whiskey-soaked baritone, the song would fit comfortably on that album.

Ready to Die, the band’s second album since the 1970s, is due out on April 30. Engineer Ed Cherney claims that “it’s old-time Stooges. It’s raw. They’re great songs, but not necessarily big choruses. They’re the anti-christ of anthems.” The band’s tour dates are below.
