Move over Jack White: The World's Shortest Album pressed on 5" vinyl for Record Store Day

Record Store Day may be foremost a celebration of the vinyl format, but it’s also a great battlefield for dumb ideas.

And just when you thought Jack White had a monopoly on them, along comes long-running extreme music label Earache with a vinyl pressing of… The World’s Shortest Album.

Doing exactly what it says on the tin, TWSA (or, as we prefer to call it, \m/~!!) will collect some of metal, punk and hardcore’s greatest short songs, from Napalm Death’s ‘You Suffer’ (Guinness Book of Records’ shortest song of all time, clocking in at 1.9 seconds) to Brutal Truth’s ‘Blockhead’ (all-time shortest video, at 7.3 seconds), and will be made available on 5″ vinyl in a 12″ sleeve. The set was made available on iTunes last year, but really, what’s the point of that? For more information, head to Earache’s website [via The Quietus].
