RVNG Intl’s resident academic isolates the groove of Janine Rostron’s latest single.

Earlier this year, Planningtorock released the Misogyny Drop Dead EP on her DFA-backed Human Level imprint. The title track juxtaposes a dance groove with Rostron’s political lyrics and uneasy melody; on her remix of the track, Holly Herndon removes Rostron’s vocals, highlighting the rhythm and texture of the original.

Pursuit Grooves has also offered a remix of the track. One-time FACT mixer Herndon recently sat down with Pete Swanson, and she released her debut Movement last year.
