Following the widely-acclaimed Hookid and Broken Heart Collector EPs, ex-Spacek man Morgan Zarate is back with Taker.

Once again recording for the Hyperdub imprint, Zarate has chiseled his neon-drenched R&B to a fine point, and the EP’s lead track ‘Pusher Taker’ is maybe the most shining example of this. Led by a sizzling vocal from Gorrilaz-collaborator Roses Gabor, it’s a track that frames Zarate’s elegant pop quite perfectly.

Elsewhere, the producer dives headfirst into trap with ‘Katsu’, grime with ‘Tayco’ and even approaches the mainstream with the massive ‘Far Too Late’. It’s inventive, genre-bounding stuff, and is due for release on September 23.
