Untold details debut album Black Light Spiral – stream the bone-shaking 'Drop It On The One'

“I’ve eaten all the snacks and now it’s time for supper.”

Untold has spilled the beans on his previously announced debut album, due out next month on his own Hemlock label. Titled Black Light Spiral, the album was recorded in just a week at his London studio last summer.

“I just threw it down really fast before breaking down my studio as I was moving,” he told RA. “[The album] is based on notes I’d written in 2012 and the concepts were already fully formed, so it was just a case of getting onto a good workflow.”

Asked why he’d finally decided to put out a long-player after six years of singles and EPs, he said: “I’ve eaten all the snacks and now it’s time for supper.”

Black Light Spiral is due out on February 24 on Hemlock, and you can now stream the bone-shakingly incredible album track ‘Drop It On The One’ below. Plus, check out previously unveiled album track ‘Sing A Love Song’ if you haven’t already.

Untold also revealed he’ll be taking the album on tour with live visuals from Current Current, as well as doing some “experimental modular synth performances” with the London Modular Alliance. The first of those is happening at the V&A in London on January 31.

Last year the producer also made his debut on 50Weapons with the ‘Targa/Glare’ single and launched a new label, Pennyroyal, for “DJ tools, cheap party tricks and relentless noise”.
