LA newcomer Patrick Brian debuts club-ready battering ram 'Strange Artifact'

The Portland-bred producer readies his first release for LA’s The Melt.

As a club night, The Melt has brought the likes of Girl Unit, Pearson Sound, and Ben UFO to Los Angeles over the past few years; as a label, the crew has released music by Obey City, Deebs and a host of homegrown talent.

Next up for The Melt is an EP by Patrick Brian, an LA-based producer who has released music via R2M Records and Terror Rhythm. His debut effort for the Melt is the label’s fifth release, and it sits nicely amid the new wave of club music that draws equally from instrumental grime and Jam City’s increasingly influential Classical Curves.

Stream ‘Strange Artifact’ below; the EP (due out April 15) also includes the equally vicious ‘Trample’ and remixes from Melt regular Queen Leaf and Astro Nautico affiliate Dane Chadwick.
