The Soft Pink Truth’s re-appropriation of black metal continues with a humorous new video.

In case you didn’t know, The Soft Pink Truth (aka Matmos man Drew Daniel) has managed to slot together a brand new record (entitled Why Do Heathen Rage?) that reframes black metal tracks as mischievous house music. Daniel’s cover of Venom’s stone-cold-classic ‘Black Metal’ is among the best, so it’s hardly surprising that it’s been picked to receive the visual treatment.

Filmed in Baltimore, the video was directed by Horse Lord’s Max Eilbacher, and features Daniel in full corpse paint, along with vocalist Bryan Edward Collins and House of Revlon voguer David Serrotte.

Why Do Heathen Rage? is due for release on June 16/17 on CD/LP and digital via Thrill Jockey.
