Metallica‘s headline booking at Glastonbury didn’t just draw criticism because of the music – people also objected to frontman James Hetfield’s recent gig narrating a series about bear hunting.

Just as they kicked back at Mogwai’s “Metallica is shite” quote, the group also took aim at these criticisms – opening their performance with this satirical film about bear-hunting. Directed by Julien Temple, it documents an English fox-hunt (with some scenes from The Good, The Bad & The Ugly to boot), which goes wrong when a series of bears emerge from the wilderness and take aim at the huntsman. Then, surprise – the bears were Metallica all along.

You can watch the film above, which doesn’t actually make much of a point but might have been funny after three days of drinking. We guess. You can watch Metallica’s full set here.
