US psychedelic explorers Animal Collective have been quiet for a minute, but don’t fret – they’re back (sort of).

The acclaimed Domino-signed four piece are about to tour the US, but it’s not your usual Animal Collective show – firstly, Panda Bear is nowhere to be seen (he’s probably at home in Portugal, chilling), and secondly the remaining trio of Geologist, Deakin and Avey Tare will be DJing, not performing live.

Well it seems as if the trio have looked at the market for EDM in America and obliged – if David Guetta can do it, so can everyone’s favorite Baltimore weirdos, eh? Just to prove their mettle, the trio have shared an excellent (if short) DJ set from a show in LA back in May – it’s packed with weird and wonderful tunes (from Ashra and Black Dice to Joy Orbison and Isolee) that you might have come to expect if you’ve been following the band (and their curious Paw Tracks imprint), and you can take a listen below.
