If those vintage DJ trading cards got you misty-eyed for techno’s glorious youth, you need to check out this huge archive of fanzines from the 1990s.

As flagged up by RA, the Technomag Archiv blog has been collecting and digitising a selection of German magazines from the era, including Groove, Raveline and Frontpage, since 2013.

The latest publication to surface is a copy of Frontpage from April 1994, which includes articles on Robert Hood, Slam and Soma Records plus scene updates from Munich, Berlin, Stuttgart and other German cities – but all of that is totally upstaged by the eye-popping ads for raves and trance compilations. Great stuff.

Read that issue and find the rest at Technomag Archiv. For more clubbing history, check out Mella Dee’s top 10 rave tapes and Terry Farley on the history of house.
