Update 16:14 BST: The latest Ten Walls boycott comes from Phonica Records, who have cancelled pre-orders for his new record, Sparta. “We wont be stocking this record anymore due to Mario Basanov aka Ten Walls’ homophobic comments over the weekend”, says the store. “If you have pre-ordered it, your pre-order has been cancelled and money refunded.”

Update 15:00 BST: Ten Walls’ booking agency has released a statement saying it no longer represents him.

“Coda Music Agency condemns all forms of discrimination based on race, religion or sexual orientation. We are proud to be an equal opportunity employer and to represent a hugely diverse roster of artists.  We no longer represent Ten Walls,” a spokeswoman said.

Update, 14:22 BST: In a new post on his Facebook, Ten Walls has claimed that he “needs a break” from music and has cancelled his upcoming shows.

“Last week I wrote a Facebook post that was wrong and completely out of character and the result was a badly written post that was unacceptable,” he wrote. “It was never my intention to offend anyone. I’m really saddened by everything that has happened and I would like to apologise to everyone I’ve let down, especially to my friends in the gay community, and my fans. I now need to take a break and have cancelled my upcoming shows.”

The Lithuanian producer has lost his slot at two major festivals.

Creamfields, PITCH festival, Sónar and Austria’s Urban Art Forms have removed Ten Walls from their line-ups over a homophobic rant he posted online last week.

The organisers of Amsterdam’s PITCH wrote on Facebook: “In light of recent comments made by Ten Walls on his Facebook regarding homosexuality, we have decided to cancel Ten Walls’ show at PITCH festival. We want to make very clear that PITCH is a festival for everyone, and we are against any form of discrimination whatsoever, on and off our festivalsite. Comments like these are so far from our beliefs that it wouldn’t make any sense to have this act playing our festival.”

UK festival Creamfields also decided to cancel Marijus Adomaitis’ appearance. “Whilst we respect freedom of speech, we find his defamatory and prejudiced comments about the gay community extremely offensive and feel that this is not in line with the spirit of Creamfields or an opinion that we support,” the festival said in a statement.

“Creamfields is celebrated for being a festival that welcomes all and we have a zero tolerance policy when it comes to hate of any kind. Everyone who attends our shows should feel welcome and safe. Comments like this, coming from one of the artists contradicts our festival ethos.”

Sónar organisers posted a statement saying Adomaitis’ comments were “at odds with the nature and ethos of the festival. For this reason, Ten Walls will no longer be appearing at Sónar2015. Here’s to a diverse and enjoyable 2015.”

The organisers of Austria’s Urban Art Forms also dropped Adomatisi from their festival, saying in a statement that they wanted to ensure “intolerance and discrimination” had no context in their event.

Ten Walls’ booking agency also appears to have removed his information from its website – we’ve asked Coda to clarify the situation.

The ‘Walking with Elephants’ producer (oh, the irony) compared homosexuality to paedophilia in the tirade on his personal page, saying that in the “good 90s… these people of different breed where fixed”. The rant prompted Fort Romeau to pull out of a support slot with Ten Walls later this year, while Optimo’s JD Twitch disposed of his record accordingly.
