Cyrus has been putting in serious work of late, launching a foundation for disadvantaged LGBT youth and collaborating with Instagram for a portrait series of transgender people.
At amfAR’s sixth annual Inspiration Gala, she arrived with an agender date (below), and auctioned off her artwork, raising $69,000. She was also honoured at the gala for her work towards the LGBT community. amFAR is trying to raise $100 million by 2020 in order to fund innovative HIV and Aids research.
Meet Tyler (@tywrent), a 24 year old living in New York City, and my date for @amfar tonight!!! Tyler is a queer, biracial, agender person, whose pronouns are they/them/theirs. Tyler shares about their identity, experiences and hopes saying: “My whole life, I was led to believe that there were only two genders. I thought I had to shrink myself to fit into a box that was never going to contain me. It took years for me to find words for my gender identity, and to feel comfortable expressing myself as I am.” #happyhippiepresents #instapride @happyhippiefdn @instagram
Being Miley Cyrus, she also promised to clean the winning bidder’s house naked. Check the auctioned artwork below.
