A native OS X version of FL Studio is now available for you to try.

Back in April, Image Line released FL Studio 12, the latest update to the popular music production software formerly known as Fruity Loops. The new version includes multi-touch support and a host of updated features, however the promised Mac support did not appear.

It appears as though Mac users will finally have their own version of the software soon—testing for an OS X native of FL Studio 12 has just entered the alpha testing stage.

“It is not a Windows application in disguise,” says Scott from FL Studio.

There are still quite a few kinks that need to be ironed out. There’s no support for VST/AU plugins (only the included FL plugins are supported at this time) and MIDI input/output isn’t available yet. You can view a full list of the incomplete features here.

Head to the Image Line forum to download the alpha version (you’ll need to register first). [via AskAudio Mag]
