The TT250USB looks a lot like the classic Technics SL-1200.
Numark has unveiled a new addition to its turntable range, with a chassis, S-shaped tonearm and platter that look to be directly inspired by Technics’ classic SL-1200 model.
The TT250USB features a quartz-controlled direct-drive motor for accuracy, pitch control with ±10 per cent adjustment range and a platter with less than 0.1% wow and flutter.
According to Numark, the new turntable will be available in the fourth quarter of 2015 at a price of just $299 – considerably less than an SL-1200 would cost on the second-hand market.
Numark isn’t the only company taking inspiration from classic Technics turntables – last year Pioneer released the PLX-1000 with its own SL-1200-style design.
