$50,000 is required to complete Bushwick Bill: A Geto Boy.

Born in Jamaica, raised in Brookyln and revered in Houston; Bushwick Bill is one of hip-hop’s most interesting figures. He is the longest serving member of legendary Houston rap outfit The Geto Boys (alongside Scarface and Willie D), appearing on all seven of the group’s albums (a claim that neither of the other members can match). The MC/dancer has a colourful history—he lost an eye during a 1991 suicide attempt and narrowly avoided deportation in 2010 following a string of arrests. As a solo artist Bill released six albums with his 1992 debut, Little Big Man, charting in the top 15.

Bushwick Bill: A Geto Boy is a Greg Roman-directed documentary that has been filming for over three years. The film’s crew are seeking $50,000 to cover production costs, asserting that the documentary has cost much more to produce. The trailer below is a heartfelt glimpse into the tough life of a Southern rap icon.
