Roland has announced two new keyboard synths in its Juno line, positioned as “gig-ready” instruments for live performance.

Both the Juno-DS61 and Juno-DS88 synthesizers feature all the sounds from the previous Juno-Di model, along with updated piano and organ sounds. They also allow the import of samples via WAV and feature an eight-track sequencer for developing song ideas.

These new Juno synths might not be the analog recreations that fans of the vintage Juno-106 from 1984 are after, but the Juno-DS88 is the first Roland Juno synth to feature fully weighted keys, making it an attractive option for stage performers.

You can see the new Juno-DS models in the video below. For those who want something based on the analog Juno models from the 1980, Roland recently teased a new line of “boutique” synths that seems to take inspiration from them.
