New application is designed to help you practice finger drumming.  

Developed by former Serato CEO Sam Gribben, Melodics is an app similar in design to the Guitar Hero or Rock Band games—notes on a scale scroll across a screen with users required to hit the corresponding buttons at the correct time. The app provides players with instant feedback on their timing.

Melodics comes with a series of lessons, organised into skill levels that allow users to build their capabilities naturally. Patterns start off basic and become more complicated with new elements added to each level.

The app is a free download for OS X and comes with a selection of free lessons, with a Windows version slated to arrive in the near future. Additional lessons are available with a US $9.99 monthly subscription. [via Synthtopia]
