Sam Willis of WALLS returns under solo moniker Primitive World.

After a slew of releases for Black Acre, Obsession and Ecstatic, Willis drops down on the legendary R&S imprint for his latest EP, Purple Caps.

You can stream the crunchy title track below, and fans of tape-damaged house and grotty industrial music should be very pleased. Willis grabs the blueprints laid out by Andy Stott and Powell and pushes the sound even further, emerging with a noisy, overdrive-damaged wall of sound punctuated by a throbbing kick.

Willis’s ex-WALLS partner Alessio Natalizia turns up for a remix under his Not Waving guise, so those of you still missing the duo should look no further.

Purple Caps EP will be released on December 4 via R&S.
