Say goodbye to those long Ibiza sunrise sessions.

The authorities in Ibiza have agreed on a change in the law that will see all nightclubs on the island close by 6:30am, Mixmag reports.

Larger clubs such as Amnesia – which would regularly go until at least 8am and often longer into the day – will be hit hardest by the new rules, though smaller music bars will also be forced to close by 5am. Anyone breaking the rules will be hit with “penalties that are commensurate with the offence committed”.

The rules won’t have much effect on bars in San Antonio where the 5am closing time has existed for the past two years, but will have a profound effect on Ibiza Town venues. According to Diario de Ibiza, beach clubs will also be forced to stop playing music at midnight and close at 3am under the new rules.
