The Italian artist blends industrial, noise, D&B and more on his next album.

Type Recordings has announced details of the second proper album from Italian experimental techno producer Shapednoise.

Different Selves is described as “challenging, unruly selection of tracks” combining the caustic sonics of industrial music with the influence of mid 90s D&B, grime and dark ambient.

While Shapednoise has become known as a producer weaving existing genres into unfamiliar forms, the label says that Different Selves is less a deconstruction of club music and more of an “amplification”.

The album follows 2013’s Until Human Voices Wake Us mini LP and the The Day Of Revenge full-length, released on Opal Tapes and Hospital Productions respectively. More recently Shapednoise has been working with Mumdance and Logos on their collaborative project The Sprawl.

The album is released on LP and digital formats on December 3 via Type (a label independently operated by FACT’s John Twells). It features nine tracks, one of which is a collaboration with Godflesh’s Justin Broadrick.
