Hear an unreleased version of Jay Z’s ‘The Black Gangster’

By , Nov 17 2015

DJ Absolut has unearthed a previously unreleased version of a Jay Z classic.

Otherwise known as ‘This Life Forever’, the track was first released on a Roc-A-Fella promo tape in 1997. It later became known by the title of ‘The Black Gangster’, after the 1999 film soundtrack on which it also appeared. You can stream the unreleased version below.

Tim Westwood dug up an unheard 1999 Jay Z freestyle from his archives earlier this month. In July, NYC radio legends Stretch & Bobbito shared some vintage Jay Z freestyles from 1995. [via XXL]
