Justin Vernon opens up his archives.

We’re still none the wiser as to whether we’re getting another Bon Iver album any time soon, but in the meantime Justin Vernon has shared an unreleased track from his vaults.

‘Haven, Mass’ appears on a cassette of demos and B-sides by artists on the line-up for this year’s Eaux Claires Music & Arts Festival, the event run by Vernon and The National’s the National’s Aaron Dessner.

According to a tweet from Vernon, the track dates back to 2009 or 2010, prior to the release of 2011’s Bon Iver.

The cassette, sent to fans who bought early bird tickets for the festival, features unreleased tracks from Shabazz Palaces, Jon Hopkins and Justin Vernon and James Blake’s Fall Creek Boys Choir collaboration. The duo are tipped to play together at the festival, due to be held in Wisconsin this August.

Vernon has a history of debuting new songs around the Eaux Claires festival: at the 2015 event he played two unreleased tracks. Vernon has also been working with James Blake on his forthcoming album, Radio Silence. [via Stereogum]
