Clubbing mecca Fabric appears in documentary on London history

By , Feb 21 2016

Watch a three-part film on Smithfield’s history.

The area has undergone a drastic redevelopment in the last decade, but the streets around London’s Fabric nightclub hold some of the city’s most fascinating history.

The club is located in Smithfield, EC1, next to a wholesale meat market (conveniently, a near-deserted non-residential spot on Friday and Saturday nights, except for the meat traders) and, in a few years’ time, the relocated Museum of London.

The museum has made a three-part documentary on the centuries-old history of Smithfield to announce its planned move, and Fabric pops up in part three with an interview with co-owner Cameron Leslie. Watch that episode below and see the rest on Fabric’s blog.
