The station will start selling off (good) records this June.

Radio France has one of the largest record collections in Europe at 1.5 million, but it’s going to get just a little bit lighter this summer when the station sells off some of its legendary collection.

While they begin digitizing their stock, the station will hold its first auction of 5,000 records this June at their Maison de la Radio headquarters in Paris. The selection looks to be very nice from what Marc Maret, the station’s deputy director of documentation, told Trax recently.

“An electronic selection has been present since it started at in the ’60s, but we prefer no style. Jazz, classical, rock also have their place in this sale,” he said. Look for the first sale on June 19. [via Radio France]
