Update, April 26: Spotify has denied user information has leaked online.

In a statement provided to TechCrunch, the streaming service said it “[has] not been hacked and our user records are secure.”

“We monitor Pastebin and other sites regularly. When we find Spotify credentials, we first verify that they are authentic, and if they are, we immediately notify affected users to change their passwords.”

The streaming platform faces another hack.

According to TechCrunch, a recent global security breach at Spotify has led to a list of hundreds of user email addresses landing on Pastebin. The streaming service is currently denying that there has been a hack, but the users that TechCrunch has reached out to report their personal details have been compromised over the last few days.

These users believe that they are a part of a new hack, reporting they noticed their account had been hacked after new music they had not themselves added showed up in their saved lists or by being kicked out of the service when someone else logged in.

Spotify’s statement to TechCrunch says that passwords have been changed to protect the effected user base: “We monitor Pastebin and other sites regularly. When we find Spotify credentials, we first verify that they are authentic, and if they are, we immediately notify affected users to change their passwords.” However, TechCrunch’s reporting reveals that not all users have been contacted yet.
