We’re getting ever-closer to the 2016 edition of Montreal’s long-running Mutek festival.

It was already shaping up to be a must-see event, with more than 80 (!) live performances from over 100 artists, including appearances from FACT favorites Lee Gamble, Aïsha Devi, Peder Mannerfelt, Powell, Colleen, Tim Hecker and more.

Now Mutek has announced its free programming and special events, the final pieces of the puzzle to be revealed before the festival itself begins on June 1. For the second year in a row, the festival will spice up the area in front of the Maison Symphonique from Thursday to Saturday from 5PM-11PM (from 3PM on the Saturday). There will be a bar and food trucks, and of course music from Jlin, Machinedrum, Peder Mannerfelt, Riohv, Lee Gamble, Booma Collective, Claire and others.

Elsewhere, Mutek has revealed that it will be teaming up with Piknic Électronik yet again on Sunday June 5, and also welcoming Boiler Room to Montreal, who will be curating the first in a series of audiovisual events in Canada with a free lineup of musicians and VJs at the Society for Arts and Technology. Mutek has also partnered with Festival TransAmériques for the second year running to provide free performances at the Coeur des Sciences from Fake_Electronics with VJ Ewerx and Cop Car Bonfire.
