VH1 is reigniting their Hip-Hop Honors special after a six-year hiatus.

The special has previously acknowledged 2Pac, Run-DMC, Public Enemy and Salt-N-Pepa, as well as A Tribe Called Quest, in which Lupe Fiasco famously borked his performance.

According to Billboard, a statement released by the Associated Press says the network will air the special live from New York City on July 11 and it will focus solely on the women “trailblazers and trend-setters” in the genre. No honorees have been announced yet.

Clover Hope (hey girl!) over at Jezebel has volunteered Missy Elliott, Lil Kim (co-sign) and Trina as tribute and we at FACT would like to add Nicki Minaj, Lauryn Hill, Gangsta Boo and Remy Ma. We’d also like to see Dej Loaf and Kamaiyah get some time on stage paying homage.

And you know what? Give Rasheeda a chance to perform ‘My Bubble Gum’ after so many years of having her personal life on front street on Love and Hip-Hop: New York. But please, for the love of god, keep Iggy Azalea far, far away from that stage.

Watch Salt-n-Pepa and En Vogue perform ‘Whatta Man’ at Hip-Hop Honors in 2005 below.
