“It’s what we need so I’m going to make it happen”.

BBC Radio 1 DJ and ex-X Factor judge Nick Grimshaw is working on making a new television show in the spirit of Top Of The Pops, NME reports.

“I’m writing a show with my friend Aimee. We’ve just started writing it,” he told the The Sun, describing it simply as “a music show, it’ll be a show getting music on television”.

Top Of The Pops originally ran from 1964 to 2006 making the 10 year anniversary of its regular absence this July (the Christmas specials continue).

Only last year, Grimshaw debuted a judge on The X Factor but announced he would not return to the show citing work conflicts with his morning radio show.
