Eddie Dean, former owner of Pacha NYC, has bought the Brooklyn megaclub that used to be known as Verboten.

The two-room, 10,000 sq. ft. venue club was shut down in March over $360,000 in unpaid taxes but reopened in April after the owners filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy.

Dean purchased the club for $1.2 million and said it would reopen soon under a new name.

“I started my nightlife career in Brooklyn, so it’s only fitting that I return here now,” he said in a press release. “We are excited to take over the North 11th space in this prime location and fully put our nightlife expertise into action.”

As Billboard reports, the plan is to create an event space “dedicated to the creative ethos of Brooklyn and [to] serve as an outpost for the global dance music scene.”

Dean ran EDM haven Pacha NYC for 10 years before the club bowed out at the end of 2015.
