The Bergen producer’s first album lands in October.

Gerd Janson’s Running Back label has announced the debut album from Norwegian producer Telephones, Vibe Telemetry.

Otherwise known as Henning Severud, the producer has previously released his disco-influenced grooves on Sex Tags UFO and Prins Thomas’ Full Pupp label. His album for Running Back is his second release after 2014’s The Ocean Called EP.

Vibe Telemetry is inspired by the pure feeling of listening to house, disco and techno, prior to knowing what it actually was: ambiguous, euphoric, mystical and melancholic,” says the label in a press release. “Sonic and physical experiences, which names and origins were yet to be discovered.”

Borrowed cassette tapes, music heard on the radio, and Severud’s experiences in the Bergen club scene where he grew up are all cited as influences together with time spent in his local music library and record shops.

Classic New York disco, Underground Resistance, Italo house and UK techno labels such as Peacefrog are also cited as reference points as well as fellow Norwegian producers like Bjørn Torske.

Vibe Telemetry is released on October 14, and is the second album on Running Back in 2016 after Leon Vynehall’s Rojus. Check the artwork and tracklist below.
