MUTEK announces its first Tokyo lineup.

MUTEK already runs successful events in Montreal and Mexico City and this year they’re kicking off the first MUTEK Japan in Tokyo. Taking place in various venues around the Shibuya neighborhood, the festival will, as always, serve as a platform for experimental music and art.

Now that the lineup has been announced, we have even more reason to get excited. Sitting at the center is an appearance from Germany’s acclaimed Raster Noton label. The imprint’s co-founders Carsten Nicolai (Alva Noto) and Olaf Bender (Byetone) will perform, alongside Dasha Rush, Anne-James Chaton, Robert Lippok and Ueno Masaaki.

Elsewhere, Aussie audio-visual performance artist Robin Fox, UK producer Max Cooper and Canada’s Midnight Operator accompany a slew of breaking artists from Japan and Canada.

The event takes place on November 2-4 and tickets can be purchased from the MUTEK site.
