Illum Sphere and Dis Fig are among the first artists to be booked.
Berlin’s Berghain club is opening up a third dancefloor called Säule.
As Thump reports, the new space is located on the club’s ground level, directly underneath the main Berghain dancefloor. Its booking policy appears to be aimed at darker, more experimental electronic sounds than the techno and house found in the main space and Panorama Bar.
Berghain already has two additional spaces, Kantine and Halle am Berghain, but these are primarily used for live performances and installations.
Translating to “pillar” in English, Säule opens on March 23 with a nigh featuring Mannequin Records boss Alessandro Adriani, Deena Abdelwahed and Natalia Escobar. On March 24, Dis Fig, Illum Sphere and Laura Clock play sets, while Panorama Bar, which is usually open on Fridays, remains closed.
Keep an eye on Berghain’s listings page for future Säule line-ups.
