A fresh collaboration between two rap lifers.

Funkontrol – the collaborative project of occasional FACT contributor Skinny Friedman and DJ/producer Scott Melker – have announced their debut album, Are We Having Fun Yet? and shared its lead single.

‘Bankers Club’ is the first taste of the project and illustrates their sound with refreshing clarity. The two producers put together Funkontrol to bring back the energy of the late-90s, early-00s hip-hop scene – music that’s long remained close to their hearts.

“There’s no real need for more than hard-ass drums and some straightforward raps about butts,” the duo admit via the single’s press release. ‘Bankers Club’ certainly gives us the right kind of taste.
