Kamasi Washington has announced Harmony Of Difference, the jazz bandleader’s first release since his appropriately named 2015 breakthrough The Epic.

While that three-hour opus was released on Flying Lotus’s Brainfeeder, Washington has moved to Young Turks for this EP. The release is adapted from a six-part suite of the same name he recently debuted at the Whitney Biennial in New York.

Washington describes Harmony Of Difference as five original compositions leading up to closing ‘Truth’ which fuses them all in one 13-minute finale. Today you can hear that track alongside a short film by A.G. Rojas, the director behind incredible music videos including Run The Jewels’ ‘Close Your Eyes (And Count To Fuck)’ and Spiritualized’s ‘Hey Jane’, included in the original exhibit.

Harmony Of Difference doesn’t have a release date, but is expected this summer. The “Harmony Of Difference” installation is on view in New York until June 11.
