The songs do sound pretty similar…

Tame Impala have threatened to take legal action against a Chinese company for featuring a near-carbon copy of the band’s 2015 album track ‘The Less I Know The Better’ in a drink commercial.

“I mean come on guys at least put some effort in,” wrote the band’s Kevin Parker on Instagram earlier this morning (April 27). Adding a “lawsuit” hashtag to the caption, Parker has also tagged Tame Impala’s publishing company Sony ATV in the post.

The post also includes the “now it’s my turn” hashtag, which is believed to reference the lawsuit taken out by funk band Skull Snaps that alleges Tame Impala ripped off their 1973 song ‘It’s A New Day’, as Billboard points out.

The commercial, which appears to be advertising a Chinese brand of blueberry milk, can be seen below alongside the original track.
