Featuring Nile Rodgers and more.

Channel 4 has unveiled a new two-part documentary series exploring the early days of house, called I Was There When House Took Over The World.

The program sees Nile Rodgers and other disco figureheads recall how the demise of the genre made space for a queer underground dance movement that would eventually grow into the house phenomenon.

Directed by Jake Sumner (Fantastic Man, The Plastic Age, Tracks) and executive produced by Music Nation creator Ravi Amaratunga Hitchcock, the film also features Marshall Jefferson, Jesse Saunders, Chip E, Steve ‘Silk’ Hurley and Honey Dijon. Watch it in full on Channel4.com.

This new program follows ‘90s house documentary series Pump up the Volume, which is available to watch in full on YouTube.
