The Californian alt.hip-hop mainstays are making a record together.

Yesterday, Busdriver took to Facebook to announce: “‘Its happening. Del the Funky Homosapien and I are back in gear to finish these handful of songs together. It’ll most likely be an EP. Stay tuned”. Busdriver’s elastic flow – two parts manic, one part camp – will no doubt be an interesting foil to Del’s more languid style.

Both have been busy with their own projects in recent months. On February 14, Busdriver released his ninth album Beaus$Eros, as arch and eclectic a record as anything else in his (not inconsiderable) catalogue. Del, meanwhile, has suggested that the long-delayed sophomore record from his Deltron 3030 project will see the light of the day later this year. The supergroup (alongside Dan The Automator and Kid Koala) have been working on said record, Deltron Event II, since 2006.
