Dean Blunt’s The Narcissist II, originaly released back in February, was an ideal soundtrack for tumbling down rabbit holes.

Blunt’s 30 minutes mixtape/extended composition pre-empted his Black Is Beautiful LP for Hyperdub with Inga Copeland, and cleared the ground for that disc’s unprecedented emphasis on songcraft and melody. The Narcissist II saw Blunt on particularly oneiric form, drifting between psych-pop, zonked dub and grotty ambient passages.

The Narcissist III is reportedly in the works, but Hippos In Tanks/World Music have elected to give the prequel a proper release. The Narcissist II will arrive in remastered and re-mixed form on November 26. The album will be available as a digital download, and a limited vinyl edition will also do the rounds. The title cut, featuring Copland, is below.
