Watch the New American Noise series, documenting six vibrant urban scenes

The short film series premiered earlier this month at Sundance.

New American Noise is a series of short documentaries, commissioned by Nokia music, each showcasing a corner of a different city’s music scene. The documentaries premiered at the Sundance Film Festival last week, and are now available to view online.

The films are as follows: American Dream$, about the strip club rap of Atlanta; Electric Noise, about the shoegaze of Portland; Lords of Detroit, about the genre mixing soul of Detroit; That B.E.A.T., about New Orleans bounce music; and SFV Acid, an eponymous film about the LA artist.

We previously reported on Spit Gold Under An Empire, which surveys New York’s underground rap scene. Watch it below; the remainder are available via Sundance’s YouTube channel.
