Art-house provocateur Gaspar Noé has teamed up with Animal Collective on their latest video. 

Earlier this month, Noé produced a spooky, low-key clip for Nick Cave And The Bad Seeds’ ‘We No Who U R’. The director’s adventures in music video continue with a short for ‘Applesauce’, the latest single from Animal Collective’s lukewarmly received Centipede Hz LP. The strobing multicolour visuals – inspired by Paul Sharit’s 1968 short ‘N:O:T:H:I:N:G’, incidentally – will be familiar to anyone who made it through Noé’s punishing drug odyssey Enter The Void. The same goes for Hype Williams’ video for Kanye West’s ‘All Of The Lights’, which borrowed extensively from the film’s opening sequence.
