Beyonce admits she lip-synced

The singer ends Beyoncé-gate (for now).

Putting an end to one of the most tedious non-stories in music in quite some time, Beyoncé admitted she did not sing live at President Barack Obama’s Inauguration.

“I am a perfectionist. I practice till my feet bleed,” she explained at today’s pre–Super Bowl press conference, press conference. “I didn’t have time to practice with the orchestra. So due to the weather, due to the delay, due to no proper sound check, I did not feel comfortable taking the risk.” She added that she will “absolutely” be singing live at the Super Bowl.

However, she did sing an a capella version of ‘The Star-Spangled Banner’ at the press conference, as if she needed to prove that she could actually hit the notes live. Beyoncé will perform at the Super Bowl Halftime Show this Sunday, playing a medley of Destiny’s Child songs (with her bandmates in tow) and is expected to open with ‘Crazy In Love’. [via Vulture]
