D'Angelo, The Roots, Elvis Costello, Bilal and more to play Prince tribute concert

This March will see The Roots play house band for a Prince tribute concert at New York’s Carnegie Hall.

With The Purple One releasing a divisive new single, ‘Screwdriver’, last month, it’s as good a time as any to revisit his untouchable discography, and the cast list for this concert makes for impressive reading. Booker T, Bilal, Talib Kweli, Elvis Costello, The Waterboys and more will join The Roots, as will – wait for it – r’n’b legend D’Angelo, whose much-anticipated third album is out really soon (!). The concert is part of an annual series of charity shows launched by Knitting Factory founder Michael Dorf.
