MUTEK announces first wave of headliners; includes Matthew Herbert, Jamie Lidell, John Talabot

The Montreal festival prepares for its 14th edition.

The five-day electronic music festival takes place from May 29 to June 2. The first wave of headliners includes resurgent soul man Jamie Lidell, Barcelona dreamweaver John Talabot, Kompakt boss Michael Mayer, and 3024 label man Martyn.

The prolific Matthew Herbert will return to Montreal for the first time since 2005 with three projects in tow: the “One Pig” performance; a bit of musical improv that uses “a 10-second recording courtesy of a war photojournalist in Libya”; and a DJ set as Wishmountain.

The international bill includes talent from around the world: Ame, Boundary, Franck Vigroux & Antoine Schmitt, Juju & Jordash, Nils Frahm, Robert Hood, and Ryoichi Kurokawa. Tickets are available for pre-sale now.
