Ron Morelli’s sideways house label was impossible to avoid in 2012, and landed correspondingly high in FACT’s list of our favourite labels of 2012. Following the banner American Noise compilation, 2013 has started strong, with releases from gauzy house producer Terekke and San Fran newcomer Vereker.
As Resident Advisor report, Morelli has announced a stack of new 12″s from the label. Confused House boss Steve Summers, previously responsible for key 2011 L.I.E.S. release Mode For Love, will release a new EP in April. Outermaze will collect three new tracks of ecstatic distorted disco, led by the airy ‘New Surroundings’. Delroy Edwards, meanwhile, will follow up the 4 Club Use Only 12″ with the White Owl EP, which promises more unpolished 4/4 at ghettohouse tempos. A further April release is promised from Svengalisghost, aka Below Underground. The producer will drop the Vicious Circles EP, an abrasive collection of Scrapheap Challenge electro. Sizeable clips of all three are available to stream below.
Morelli will also be bringing his merry band of troublemakers to Europe for a tour throughout the Summer. As reported, L.I.E.S. have teamed up with the resurgent Bloc for a showcase in London on March 31. Festival stop-offs and showcases are promised in Holland, Spain, Germany, France and Scandinavia. Dates are below; Morelli, Edwards, Summers and Svengalisghost will all play, except where stipulated.
