Vampire Weekend delay new album

Modern Vampires Of The City, the forthcoming third album from fey Brooklyn types Vampire Weekend, will overshoot its release date.

The album was originally scheduled to drop on May 7 through XL. As Pitchfork note, the date has now been pushed back due to “unanticipated delays”. Not to worry – Modern Vampires Of The City will now see release a week later on May 14. Prim lead single (and Souls Of Mischief tribute) ‘Step’ is below.

Vampire Weekend are expected to headline this year’s Lollapalooza festival.  Phoenix, The Killers and Mumford & Sons are also reportedly lined up to play. Vampire Weekend’s Ezra Koenig makes an unlikely guest appearance on the forthcoming Major Lazer LP, Free The Universe.
