With Soundcloud’s current dominance, we’re more aware than ever of what waveforms look like (and, of course, where the drop is) – but what about radio frequencies? 

Well, wonder no more: artist Jean-Pierre Aubé‘s Electrosmog project aims to visualise the radio frequency spectrum, using a radio, antenna and software to find ambient frequency activity in the Montreal skyline. As he sweeps the spectrum, the software captures one shot every tenth of a second, charting the electromagnetic activity in the sky. There’s a vaguely Tommyknockers vibe to the whole thing, but it’s pretty cool – check out the video above [via Beatportal].
