Portland producer and singer Natasha Kmeto offers up her first full-length through the Dropping Gems label and collective.

Following the release of the Dirty Mind Melt EP back in February, Crisis sees Kmeto digging deeper into her palette of DIY hand claps, funky arpeggiated synths and subterranean bass.

While the album’s R&B roots are clear to hear on tracks like ‘Take Out’, there’s barely a moment where Kmeto isn’t bending the rules or pulling a fresh sound out of the bag, all the while keeping things low down and sexy. As the Dropping Gems website puts it: “Wherever her music goes, heavy breathing will follow.”

The album is out digitally and on cassette on 18 June. It’s streaming now on Hype Machine, listen below. [via Dummy]
