Hear Andy Stott's deranged remix of metal quartet Bastillus' 'Concrete'

Metallers get Modern Love makeover.

Manchester’s original knackered house artiste Andy Stott has emerged from whatever dimly lit lair he calls home clutching a most unlikely remix for our shock and delectation.

Pieced together from guttural barks, grinding percussion and drifting morsels of industrial flotsam, Stott’s thoroughly deranged effort is a deconstruction of ‘Concrete’ by Brooklyn metal quartet Batillus, who released their second album Concrete Sustain earlier this year.

The remix will be released as a clear one-sided 12″ through Modern Love tomorrow (December 5). What could be more festive?

Pitchfork have decided to keep this beast safely caged, so you’ll have to click here first and then press play.

Stott will perform at the next edition of Faktion in Manchester on December 14 alongside Powell, Front 242’s Patrick Codeneys, veteran extremist Russell Haswell and PAN/Blackest Ever Black stripling Helena Hauff.
