Dr. Dre's Death Row-era mixing console for sale

Death Row’s mixing board hits the market — think there’s some magic left in it?

Recent years have seen plenty of musical artifacts hit the market, from childhood homes to record collections to treasure troves of recording gear.

The latest piece of musical history on the block is this SSL console, owned by noted mixing engineer Chris Lord-Alge and used at LA’s Can-Am Studios. Along with being used to mix and record the likes of Pink Floyd, Stone Temple Pilots, and Pearl Jam, the board was also the main console for Dr. Dre during the Death Row era — a period that saw the release of classics like The Chronic, Doggystyle and All Eyez On Me.

There isn’t a price on the listing, but considering that “six months of labor and $50,000 have been put into restoring this board,” we’re sure it won’t come cheaply.
